SUJI....SEMOLINA...

Kek Suji Kismis
Biskut Suji Rangup
Whatever you may call this coarsely ground grain, it still refers to the same thing as defined here and still looks like this.

I wasn`t sure what to bake the minute I bought this semolina, but rather than to just let it sit in my kitchen cabinet waiting to expire, I`d better go get any recipe to consume it. Lucky me, I stumbled upon a few recipes which call for this tepung suji but decided to settle with this Kek Suji Kismis @ Babybatriesyia`s FP and Biskut Suji Rangup from a magazine. Nak buat kueh talam or pudding, I`m sure nobody will touch it except me...That`s why I seldom make all these kueh-kueh talam..



KEK SUJI KISMIS

Bahan2:
250gm majerin/planta
250gm gula caster ( I used 200gm only)
150ml susu segar
100gm tepung suji/semolina
50gm kismis hitam
250gm tepung gandum
1 sudu teh baking powder
200gm telur (6 biji telur gred C), (I used 5 eggs only)
*Added 1 teaspn vanilla essence

Cara2:
1. Rendam tepung suji dan kismis dalam susu selama 1 jam.
2. Putar majerin dan gula caster hingga kembang.
3. Masukkan telur satu persatu, sambil terus diputar.
4. Masukkan rendaman tepung suji, tepung gandum & baking powder yg telah diayak.
5. Bakar pada suhu 160 darj cel atau hingga masak selama 1 jam.

* Very much like a butter cake but moist although a bit crumbly in texture. Should taste perfect if iced.




BISKUT SUJI RANGUP

Bahan:
200gm minyak sapi (Ghee Blend)
200gm gula caster (I used 160gm only)
400gm tepung suji/semolina
50gm tepung gandum
1 sudu teh esen vanilla
1 sudu teh serbuk buah pelaga (Omited)

Cara2:
1. Putar minyak sapi dan gula caster hingga kembang. Masukkan esen vanilla.
2. Masukkan tepung suji dan tepung gandum sedikit demi sedikit.
3. Rehatkan adunan selama 30 minit.
4. Bentukkan bulat2 dan leperkan. Susun dalam acuan pembakar yg dilapik dgn grease proof
paper dan bakar suhu 160 deg cel selama 20 minit.

Just a little reminder, I had a little struggle to shape these biscuits as the mixture is so crumbly and hard to handle. So, what I did was..I pressed the mixture firmly into my measuring spatula and inverted it on to the baking tray. Perfectly shaped !!!
Taste wise, hmmm...not actually to my liking but I`m pretty sure that this kind of taste should be favoured by kids. Ada rasa susu sedikit. due to the consumption of minyak sapi. Smells fragrant and it is crispy. Good..coz no eggs are included.

4.LeeLin : Tu la pasal..Bila pi kedai bahan2 baking ni, nampak apa semua nak beli..dah beli tak pasti nak buat apa..Tepung suji tu dah lama beli..kalau tak buat apa2 sure expire...Huuuuuuuuu, tak sabo nak tgk kemunculan kucing oren !!!!!
5.Ain : Biskut tu mmg rasa lemak lemak dan bau susu..Sbb tu kakrinn kata sure bebudak suka..Suami Ain suka ke rasa yg begitu. Biskut mama carries rasanya ada kat FP Kak Rossya..kat sini...Selamat mencuba.
6.ilda : Bila pulak cucu mak tok ni nak buat kek/biskut suji..Boleh bagi mak tok nya rasa...
7.MaDiHa : Hai MaDiHa..Ada masa nanti try la ye...
8.zura : Kek tu mmg gebus..rasa macam butter cake biasa je tapi ada extra rasa sbb ada kismis...
9.cak : Kakrinn la ni rajin wat kek/biskut sebab dah jaaarang beli biskut2 kat kedai..especially mcm chips more..sekali beli saaaat aje lesap..Buat cookies sendiri boleh dpt bnyk, tahan le bnyk ari..Kalau tgh rajin mcm2 bole buat tp kalau "M"....heh heh heh..Cak tu pun rajinn jugak cuma tak nak ngaku !!!!
10.mommy_d&d : Heh heh heh ..Mmg saja nak suruh erna mai sini jenguk selalu tu yg buat masakan yg penuh godaan. ..Tgk dah shortbread Erna, sedapkannnn.....
11.nabialishad : Tu laaa...lama nabia tak mai..bz ngan anak4 la tuuu..Pepaham jer la, nak kepung 4 orang !!!...Fullamak ada org makin sayang laaaa..terharunya Nanti buat le kat anak4 biskut tuuu...Sure depa suka..
12.maklang : Try maklang jgn tak try...Pada rinn biskut yg simple2 bentuk ni lagi menarik..Biasalah..Rin kan suka yg simple2..Orang pun simple!!!
13.aliz_mie : Salam perkenalan buat aliz_mie juga..FP nampak sedap sbb penuh ngan makanan..tapi sayangnya hannya boleh jamu mata..Kalau nak makan juga..kenalah masak sendiri..
14.sahar+zabar=wani&mimi : Kat sana tak de tepung suji ekkk..sampai nak kena pos tu..Waaa..nampak bersemangat sangat za nak buat ye, Bagus!! Bagus!!
15.aunidayini : Hai wana...Rinn mcm biasa aje sihat sekeluarga, tq. Betul kata you tu..Tak sempat beberapa tika, habis dah choc slice tu..immediately suruh mak dia buat lagi..Haaaaa..later2 laa kidz oiii !!!

17.zakiah : Biskut suji tu sesuai utk budak2 sbb rasanya yg canggitu..tp mungkin ada gak mak budak2 yg suka. Nak tau rasa kena try ler...OOooooopppppsss, ha ah gambar mcm kakrin tapi bukan kakrinn daaa...terlebih sexy pulak kalau kakrinn dress up canggitu !!!

28.mrsjemain@raihan : Manyak sori laa adik...kakrinn baru balik dari kampung kenduri kawin..ada line pun tak sempat nak update just lawat fp kenkawan..walaupun cuti sekolah ni. Anak2 sibuk dgn kelas tambahan PMR & UPSR..tak sempat nak pegang laptop. Menu father`s day ???..Heh heh..particularly tak de le pulak..Bagi laa hints nak western ke..eastern ke..Japanese ke...InsyaAllah..

Hi Rinn,
Thks for sharing so many yummy recipes. Yesterday, I baked ur blueberry cheese tarts.....n they were awesome!! My kids are begging me to bake another batch real soon!
- Can u please advise whts the weight for eggs grade A/B/ C? ( including the shell weight )
- For ur recipes, are u using 1 cup flour = 125g 1 cup water = 250ml??
