BLUEBERRY CHEESE TART

Blueberry Cheese Tart @ Rinn Chan`s
If only I knew that it was this yummilicious I would have baked it ages ago. I kept on excusing myself coz I actually didn`t have in hand the tart moulds. Have been wanting to buy but..you know, when the `later...laaaa...` word emerged..that`s it !!! And also..I sometime fulfill my craving for tarts by simply buying one or two from bakery but I guess that wasn`t hard enough to push the urgency to home bake them.
It so happened that last week I went to this one economy market that sells all sort of kitchen and household utensils. And there I found this tart mould..plus some others that exclusively patternted for our traditional kuih-muih like puteri ayu, kuih lompang, dangai, kuih goyang, muruku etc. I couldn`t hold myself from grabbing some of those so that I could give a try.
Quickly browsed thru the net and the closest link that I remember having tart recipe is at Ida Isk`s. Thanx Ida for sharing this recipe which you originally named it as Strawberry Cheese Tart. Since I didn`t have the strawberry paste nor any other pastes..I just made do with the leftover blueberry filling, and Alhamdullilah the end result was not dissappointing at all. So, here`s my version of Blueberry Cheese tart....


The risen filling will eventually sink when the tart gets cold and will nicely set at level with the pastry ring.

BLUEBERRY CHEESE TART
Makes 12

Bahan-bahan:
Untuk doh pastri
125gm butter
40gm icing sugar
1 biji telur
220gm tepung gandum
1/2 teaspn esen vanila

Kaedah penyediaan:
1. Satukan semua bahan dan uli sehingga menjadi doh.
2. Ambil sebahagian kecil doh dan tekankan dalam acuan tat. Sila rujuk gambar di atas.
3. Cucuk-cucuk pastri menggunakan garpu dan bakar doh pastri selama 8-10 minit atau sehingga separuh masak pada suhu 175 darjah cel.
4. Sementara itu sediakan bahan isian cheese.

Bahan Isian cheese:
250gm cream cheese
3/4 cwn gula icing
1 biji telur
1/2 cwn whipping cream
1 camca teh esen vanila
Blueberry filling secukupnya
*Nota:Sukatan Isian cheese ini sebenarnya boleh cater utk dua sukatan doh pastri di atas. Jadi, sekiranya anda hanya ingin membuat sedozen tart kurangkanlah sukatan ini kepada separuh.

Kaedah penyediaan:
1. Pukul cheese dan telur hingga sebati.
2. Masukkan esen vanila dan telur dan whipping cream.
3. Teruskan memukul adunan sehingga kelihatan berkrim.
4. Tuangkan adunan secukupnya ke dalam pastri separuh masak tadi dan sudukan blueberry filling
di tengah-tengahnya.
5. Masukkan kembali ke dalam oven dan bakar selama 15-20 minit pada suhu 175 darj cel.
Sejukkan sebelum dialih dari acuan dan diletak dalam papercup.




Initially I followed straightforwardly the indicated measurement for the filling. So, after finished scouping enough into the half-baked pastry which made a dozen I still have quite a quantity of cheese filling leftover. Hmmm...During that very moment I thought of altering it to make an adhoc cheese cake. But surprisingly the first batch of tarts vanished in no minute..Everyone was at home and while those tarts are still at baking the smell was lingering around the house...that they sneak peeked my kitchen. They just couldn`t wait and kept on asking when they could have them...Well, so much so..I beat another round of pastry dough and finished off all the filling just nicely to get another dozen of tarts.
What I like most about this recipe is that, I can always vary the filling. Hmm...next time I shall try kiwi, fresh fruits or chocolate maybe..yummmm yummmm
